Hundreds Helped During Atlanta OneSight Clinic
Volunteers from across North America spent March 21-26 at the Atlanta OneSight Clinic providing eye screenings and new eyewear to hundreds of area school children.
Parents of one recipient, 9-year-old Roseve, said their daughter can see clearly for the first time. Roseve’s mother, Loretta, told Clinic member Mike Aliaga that doctors diagnosed the little girl with Amblyopia, also known as Lazy Eye. Amblyopia is one of the most common causes of vision problems in children. Several doctors told Roseve’s parents the child’s sight could not be improved. After testing during the Atlanta Clinic, a OneSight team doctor recommended Roseve receive a pair of glasses made in OneSight’s mobile Vision Van, Iris.
Roseve was so excited to see her surroundings, she didn’t want to take her glasses off all day, even to shower! Loretta believes her daughter’s grades will improve now that Roseve can see clearly.
Roseve’s story is one of many shared in the Atlanta Team’s Clinic Blog.
