Day Two at the Cincinnati Regional Clinic
By jstrepp
Cincinnati Clinic – Day Two proved to be another full day. One of out Team members said:
Our team made SO many pairs of glasses for the kids, we where super super busy and just rolling all day. Thanks to my lab crew for all your hard work and commitment and dedication to this clinic. Day one was a challenge and day two flowed and helped to make the day fun. The Cincinnati Museum is a great place for the clinic and for the kids. Thank you to the staff here and especially the maintenance crew whom helped us all day with the electrical issues and solving them. Can’t wait for day #3. store 560…..Jan Bodine, Redding,ca.
On this Day two, Tuesday of the clinic, we saw 294 children.
One of our Doctors said:
Among the children visiting our clinic today was a thirteen year-old girl from one of the local schools. She needed her glasses replaced, but had also had cataract surgery a few years prior in both eyes due to a condition called Marfan’s syndrome. She was correctable to 20/20 in her right eye, but was unable to see out of her left eye. When examined, it turned out she her lens implant had become clouded over. Fortunately, the procedure to correct this is a simple in-office procedure with little risk and highly successful. We were able to refer her to one through the clinic partners at Children’s Hospital so that she could be scheduled for surgery and her sight restored. Meanwhile, she received new glasses until her surgery and new hope to see again.
We referred two more children for additional medical treament. That is 22 that we have referred for additional medical treament to date
Tomorrow will be our busiest day – on day three, we will see 320 children.
