Day Two

By kvernon

We started out our morning by celebrating James’ birthday. He was presented with a cupcake and everyone sang Happy Birthday. Terri and Dave then got everyone motivated with a OneSight Cheer. Throughout the day, we would stick “Happy Birthday” post-it notes on James!

We provided exams for the engineers at the clinic site and families from the local Women’s Shelter. 100% of the 13 people needed eyeglasses.

After a couple of relaxing hours at the hotel, we traveled to Little Italy (sang Happy Birthday to James on the bus) where we were treated to a bit of pampering at La Baberia Salon and Spa. They offered red and white wines and appetizers before each of us received our choice of massage, manicure, or pedicure.  Some of the team broke off to visit the local art galleries, while others partook of the wine and appetizers. Patricia got brave and decided to get her hair cut. See the before and after photos below.

We then headed across the street to La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life) restaurant. We sang Happy Birthday to James again! The restaurant provided great atmosphere and after Stephanie watered the plant, the owner offered to marry her!

Some of the team decided they would like to go bowling and others retired back to the hotel.

A great day two!
