It was great working with you all today. I’m glad your operations are centered in the Chaco; an often overlooked portion of Paraguay.

This is a story we just recieved from one of our friends we made in Paraguay. Thank You for the story.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say thank you again for everything you all did here in Paraguay! A friend and lady from my church shared this story with me yesterday and I thought it would be nice to share it with all of you.
My friend and her husband and family live in a little village on the outskirts of Filadelfia. Over the years an elderly man would come by everyweek asking for little jobs to do around the house for a little pay and food. At the beginning she would let him rake leaves underneath some big trees in their front yard. But she noticed he had missed alot a leaves and other parts completly. It was then she realized that the old mans sight was very poor. She then decided to just let him rest and have a real harty meal instead of giving him work. She realized that the old man was almost blind, only being able to make out moving objects. She felt real sorry for the man but didn’t really know what she could do for him.
Then just last week he came back again. With a huge smile on his face he very happily shared with her that he could see!! (I think he was one of the patients who got an operation) He was wearing new glasses and explained very excited that “they” (one sight) had removed something from his eyes and with the new glasses could see!!
Just another testimony of a life touched and changed by your wonderful work! Thank you so much and God bless!!Posted on Mon Aug 15, 2011 2:13 pm EST
