Fishkill, NY Clinic Leads to Happy Campers
At the second 2010 OneSight Fishkill, NY Clinic (August 1-14), team members traveled to several camps run by The Fresh Air Fund, an organization that gives inner-city children a summer camp experience.
At Camp ABC, a sweet 12-year-old girl with broken glasses approached the team. A fellow camper had accidentally stepped on the temple, and the glasses couldn't be repaired. With such a high prescription (a -4 in each eye), Mo'Nae had a very hard time seeing without them. A prescription this high usually cannot be manufactured on the Vision Van, but Mo'Nae was in luck. The team found two lenses to match her prescription exactly. She was thrilled to receive her new pair right after dinner that night. Her smile was infectious, and team members were so happy to be able to help her.
Thanks to all the volunteers for providing campers new glasses before they return to school.
