Ghana Clinic Helps Child See Clearly

During the OneSight Global Clinic in Ghana (October 11-23), team members provided much needed vision care and eyewear to a 10-year-old boy who had never worn glasses. Dr. John Michelich (LensCrafters) realized that something wasn’t right when the young boy didn’t move his eyes in the direction he was requesting. The boy needed a very strong prescription (-9.00), which meant that anything 10-12cm away from him was completely blurry. “I was able to find a pair of glasses that fit him well," said Dr. Michelich. “His first response was ‘I can see their faces.’ Those were the most inspiring words a patient has ever told me."
