OneSight Houston Team Gets Visit from Member of US Congress

In the midst of providing complete eye exams and making eyewear on site at the Houston Clinic (February 14-26), the volunteer team also found time to accept a Certificate of Congressional Recognition for helping Houston residents see clearly. US Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas presented the award during a visit to the Clinic.

Many Clinic participants needed vision correction. One student, Jasmine, wasn't even able to see her hand when held up in front of her face. Scared, she left before receiving her new prescription. OneSight volunteers found her and got a local doctor to commit to see her again. As a result, she’ll receive the glasses she needs.
