20 Students Awarded Dr. Pearle Scholarships

For the second year in a row, The OneSight Research Foundation doubled its efforts to support optometrists of the future through the Dr. Stanley Pearle Scholarship Fund. Twenty deserving students received $2,000 to help fund their education beginning in fall 2011.

The Scholarship Committee was thrilled to receive more than 100 applications from exceptional students pursuing a degree in optometry. Recipient Sunni Stewart was excited to receive the scholarship for the second year saying, “Optometry is my passion, but financially school has been beyond difficult. Thanks to your help, the financial struggle is easier to bear.”  

Since its inception in 2007, the fund has awarded a total of $140,000 in scholarships to 70 students.
